The story of the 3Rs team -Primary 3 & 4

Introduction:
Since 1997, communities across the USA have come together on 15 November to celebrate America Recycles Day. America Recycles Day (ARD) is dedicated to encouraging Americans to recycle and to buy recycled products. More than a celebration, America Recycles Day is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to the promotion of recycling in the United States. One day to educate and motivate. One day to get neighbours, friends and community leaders excited about what can be accomplished when working together. One day to make recycling bigger and better, 365 days a year.
The purpose of America Recycles Day is to promote the social, environmental and economic benefits of recycling and to encourage more people to join the movement to create a better natural environment. Through America Recycles Day, the National Recycling Coalition helps volunteer coordinators organize events in hundreds of communities nationwide to raise awareness and educate people about the benefi ts of recycling. And it’s working: Americans today are recycling more than ever. Here, we offer an activity to make our students aware of the importance of recycling and how life could be different if we changed a few habits. The aim of this activity is to make students aware of the importance of the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), and to help them develop a critical attitude towards consumption.
